why “Canned Worms” Fine Art?
A “Can of Worms” is the shortest way to describe the inner makings of Katie’s mind.
and? what’s the deal?
Canned Worms started as a creative “outlet” back in 2018 and quickly transformed into an avenue for imagination
Katie Iorfino is a flower and vegetable farming, outdoors-loving, humor-centered, print-making artist living in the woods and the trees of upstate New York. As a youngster, Katie learned the about carving linoleum during a Girl Scout Meeting and re-visited it as a young adult looking for a meaningful way to express herself. The ideas that Katie displays come from a mesh of imagination and very relatable emotions. Tending to the inner child became a priority to Katie as she navigated her way through her early 20’s and found that through the endless possibilities of printmaking and with the creation of Canned Worms Fine Art she could create a ripple of kid-like giggles that extends beyond her knowledge.
Canned Worms’s mission is to ignite that sense of silliness in ALL people through making and selling original art that is unique and affordable. When we think of art, we think of an unattainable world full of priceless pieces that are hung in museums that have admittance fees that must be paid in order for the art to be appreciated. Unlike food, you don’t necessarily NEED art to survive but it is a crucial element for many people to enjoy their day to day lives. So why can’t we have intentionally-made art that doesn’t break the bank?
It is just as important to nourish your mind and your heart with art that brings you joy, as it is to fill your belly with nutritious foods.
